EDUCATION IS A LIFELINE FOR CHILDREN IN CRISIS

When everything else falls apart, education can be the anchor that gives children like Mostafa safety, stability and hope.

7-year-old Mostafa has special needs. After losing his father in the war, he became withdrawn and isolated. Living in a tent with his family, he spent most of his time alone and struggled deeply emotionally.

Then his mother brought him to a Save the Children education centre.

Mostafa slowly began to rebuild his confidence. He started learning again, making friends and feeling safe around other children.

Today, his mother says the progress he has made is beyond anything she expected. Smiling, she adds: “Even on non-school days, he wants to come to school!”

Children in Gaza and other conflict zones are living through war, displacement and loss. When you support education in emergencies, you give children the knowledge they need to survive, the skills to recover, and hope for the future.
