HEALTH CARE FOR MOMS AND BABIES IN GAZA
Every child has the right to survive and be protected from harm. But in Gaza, 1.1 million children and babies are at risk of dying from entirely treatable and preventable causes, and thousands of mothers are giving birth with little-to-no access to pre- and postnatal health services.
Staff from our clinics tell us malnutrition rates are soaring among pregnant women and children are starving to death. Our teams and partners are doing everything we can to save lives, including treating children for malnutrition when we can, but the situation is getting worse every day.
This was entirely preventable and predictable after almost two years of severe restrictions, including six-months of near-total siege, preventing food, medicine and doctors from entering Gaza.
Your donation will help provide:
- Prenatal, postnatal, and family planning care;
- Malnutrition screening and treatment for children under five and pregnant and lactating women;
- Child health services including management of acute childhood illnesses;
- Primary health care consultations including trauma care services, injury management, and treatment for common illnesses.
Every war is a war on children. We must do everything we can to protect children in conflict zones.
